Buffalo News - SUNY bracing for tough cuts to deal with reduction in state aid

Hiring freezes.

Cutting spending for equipment. 

Reducing courses, or limiting spring enrollment.

Those are just a few measures some schools in the State University of New York system said they would take to deal with this year’s big budget cuts.

“The more we know about the situation, and how it’s being managed, will help us in how we respond,” said H. Carl McCall, chairman of SUNY’s Finance and Administration Committee.
