SUNY Needs a Rational Plan

When it comes to the State University of New York, the state Legislature is a lot like many parents of college students -- unwilling to let go.

Although we may not agree with it, we recognize the Legislature's reluctance to give SUNY more independence. But if lawmakers insist on not letting SUNY spread its wings, they're going to have to make the adult decisions.

And one of them is to not starve the kid just because they don't like paying bills.
